The NBBL and The RISE Centre are excited to bring you our second Big City Challenge as we welcome the Fort Wayne Flite of the Central Basketball Association (CBA). The Flite will be squaring off against the NBBL defending champions, Toronto 3D. Toronto 3D won in convincing fashion versus the New York City Avengers in the inaugural Big City Challenge. The 3D will be hard pressed in this match-up versus the extremely talented and well-rounded Flite squad.

Fort Wayne finished the 2014 CBA season as the league’s third-best team, losing in triple-overtime of the semi-finals to the eventual CBA champion, Middle Tennessee Storm. The Flite will look to have key returning starters on their 2015 roster, including: 2014 CBA Most Valuable Player, Antonio Cannon, who averaged 25.0 points per game last season; former Division-I point guard from Georgia State University.

This will be the second game between the NBBL and CBA. The NBBL All-Stars were able to edge out the CBA All-Stars this past August in a thrilling contest. The CBA recently announced they will be expanding to eight teams for the start of the 2015 season. The NBBL and CBA share parallels in our desire to develop and foster the growth of basketball in our respective countries. In the United States, the Central Basketball Association (CBA) is the fastest growing minor-league basketball organization, where players have the opportunity to obtain professional contracts with international organizations or the NBA D-League. In its first two seasons, the CBA has helped provide 22 international contracts to its players to date.

We are extremely excited to continue our relationship with the Central Basketball Association in the Big City Challenge 2 in what will prove to be a gripping contest between the Fort Wayne Flite and Toronto 3D.

News from CBA Staff: Fort Wayne to play Toronto in 2015 CBA-NBBL Challenge game in Canada next month.
